Day 7{of 365} Mo Willems...
These books caught my eye so I piled them up for a snapshot. I absolutely love books written and illustrated by Mo Willems, especially the Elephant and Piggie books. They are absolutely HILARIOUS! At first, I didn’t like any of the books by Mo Willems because I didn’t understand the point of them. However, after studying this author and his books, I realized that I could use his books for reading lessons and modify it accordingly for Pre-K thru 3rd grade. These books are very appropriate for children in this age range. My 3-year-old can relate to the characters and situations in these books. I read these books with a lot of expression, show my non-reader the big words, and talk about the characters’ expressions and body language...and he actually understands! If you haven’t read these books, I highly recommend that you go to the library or bookstore and get some of the books. Our favorite is “There is a Bird on Your Head.” Hope you enjoy them as much as we do! =)
